THE
SCORING
Padel
rules are very similar to tennis rules, concretely the scoring is
exactly the same. That means the points go up like that: 15, 30, 40
and game. In case of equality to 40 (deuce) the players need two
points of difference to win this game. It happens the same in the
tie-break, when the score is 6-6. The winner of the match will be the
pair who get two sets before.
THE
PLAY
All
the points start with the service and the order is rotational, that
is once every pair. The player who serves stands behind the line of
service and he must bounce the ball on the ground before the
beat/shoot with his/her racquet under the waist. This throw must be
diagonally across the net and bounce in the opponent`s court (it`s
allowed only one bounce); if the ball goes directly against the wall
or the wire fencing, it would be wrong/fault.
THE
COURT
The
padel court is a rectangle of 20 m. long and 10 m. wide. It`s divided
in the middle by a net of 90 cm. high. All the court is closed by a
wall (made of glass or brick) and a fence next to the net. The height
of the back wall is 3 m.
THE
RACQUET
The
racquet is made from light material. Its weight could be considered
normal when it´s between 350 g and 380 g. Its surface is lighter
and more manageable. The choice of a kind of racquet mostly depends
on how the player prefers beating, with more control or with more
strength. The racquet cannot be more than 45,5cm long, 26cm wide and
38mm thick. Picture number 2.
